Coffee from Olympus: Here's how to make a refreshing freddo espresso

If you can't imagine life without coffee but it's too hot to constantly drink hot espresso, it's time to try Greek freddo espresso. Freddo espresso is a summer version of coffee, chilled and refreshing, and very easy to prepare. The preparation requires just three simple steps.

To make a perfect freddo espresso, start by brewing two shots of espresso using an espresso machine. If you have a Nespresso machine, choose the small cup option to get 35-40 ml of coffee for each shot and avoid the lungo option to prevent a watery coffee. Once brewed, pour the coffee into a cocktail shaker or a sealable jar. If you prefer a sweetened drink, add your sweetener now and stir until it dissolves. Add 4-5 large ice cubes to the shaker and use a handheld milk frother to froth the mixture until you create a thick foam. If you don't have a frother, close the shaker firmly and shake it vigorously for 10-20 seconds. Finally, fill a glass with 3-4 ice cubes and pour the frothed coffee over the ice. Serve your freddo espresso with a straw and enjoy this refreshing cold coffee drink!
